Welcome, beautiful soul…
I am so glad you found your way here…
Hi, I’m Alexandria Valline, MACP, LMHC — a gay, queer therapist, trauma survivor, and integrative healing practitioner. I weave together science, spirit, and story as a facilitator, writer, artist, and public speaker, committed to redefining how we relate to healing. I lead with the belief that when we heal the whole self — mind, body, spirit, and story — we change not only our lives, but the world around us.
With nearly a decade of experience in victim advocacy and a lifelong devotion to holistic healing, I guide people in cultivating self-efficacy and creating more fulfilling, connected, and empowered lives. I believe that healing happens when we feel fully seen, honored, and empowered. I know that every person carries the innate wisdom and strength to create a meaningful, soul-aligned life. My role is to help you reconnect with that deep knowing, trust it, and embody it fully.
We are unbelievably complex and unique beings, and true healing requires an approach that honors every part of us — mind, body, emotion, and spirit. I carefully blend somatic techniques with evidence-based behavioral modalities (ACT, CBT, DBT, and EMDR), helping you unravel and release the roots of distressing thoughts and emotions, locate where they live in your body, and move toward integration and healing. Through this process, we’ll work to process, release, and clear all that no longer serves you — so you can build a life anchored in your values, a life that makes your Soul sing!
MY TOP 5 VALUES — COMPASSION, EMPATHY, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, AND CONFIDENTIALITY.
My story and how I came to this particular soul-inspired path…
As a gay, queer woman, U.S. Navy Veteran, and trauma survivor, I’ve walked a personal path through adversity and healing. Just three years ago, during my graduate studies, I lost my mother to suicide—an experience that brought me face-to-face with grief in its rawest form. I share this not for sympathy, but so you know: I am a human first, and a therapist second. It’s from this lived experience that I hold space—with deep empathy, reverence, and compassion—for whatever you carry.
I spent my 20s working in the art world, pursuing my dream to become a full-time potter and gallery owner. As I aged, my interests changed. I decided to get certified in personal training. I spent the next few years helping people improve their relationship with food and transforming their bodies and, moreover, their lives.
In my late 20s, I felt called to pursue more altruistic work. I vacillated between joining the Peace Corps or serving my country in the United States Navy. At age 31, I made the unexpected and rather brave move to join the US Navy. I spent the next six years witnessing the impact of trauma on the human biome. My work as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocate (SAPR-VA) for active duty service members further underpinned the impact of trauma and the absolute necessity of outside care and support. That position and my overall experiences with oppression and marginalization within the armed forces solidified my calling to create accessible and approachable (de-stigmatized) mental health care. It was from this place of clarity and assuredness that I chose to pivot and pursue a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Bastyr University.
The modalities I have chosen to offer you are entirely intentional, as I know firsthand how effective and transformative they can be when utilized regularly. I have always been a seeker and someone committed to becoming a better version of myself. Between personal development books and consistent individual therapy for the past decade, I have learned how essential it is to have the ongoing support of a trusted professional. That support allowed me to do the work necessary to create a life of diversified fulfillment and ever-unfolding potential.
I believe there is infinite potential for growth and expansion within the therapeutic relationship due to the inherent power of witness. As I sit with you and we unfold the colorful tapestry of your lived experience, we will embark upon a journey into self-discovery that will reconnect you with your inner power and solidify your voice.
The story behind my practice…
Soulana Sanctuary was born from a longing to create the kind of space I once searched for—where care feels human, not clinical. As a sexual trauma survivor, advocate, and member of the LGBTQIA community, I know the ache of seeking support that truly sees and honors the whole person. With over a decade of experience supporting fellow survivors, I’ve witnessed how healing deepens when held with compassion, presence, and respect. This sanctuary exists to expand access to soul-aligned support. While my path may not be the same as yours, it has shaped a devotion to share the tools and practices that have transformed my own life—with gentleness, integrity, and love.
I help you make sense of your emotions and reality and thrive amidst the complexities of this world.
Outside of my work with clients, I find joy in reconnecting with nature and engaging in the elements that bring me home to myself. Hiking, walking, swimming in nearby lakes, and camping are a few of the ways I immerse in the natural world—usually with my sweet pup, Oakley, by my side. Forest bathing, sound healing, and creating music offer deep nourishment for my mind, body, and spirit.
I also love to dance—really dance. Give me Aurora or RÜFÜS DU SOL and I can move for hours, lost in rhythm, breath, and joy. Creativity runs through everything I do, but clay is where my soul speaks most clearly. Pottery has been a true anchor in my life, always bringing me back to center when the world feels loud.
You’ll also find me in the kitchen or out in the garden—two of my favorite ways to regulate my nervous system and pour love into something tangible. There’s something deeply magical about crafting a beautiful meal from your own harvest and sharing it with people you care about.
“This healing work is a consistent practice of moving toward our values and the most authentic versions of ourselves—so we can co-create lives that are deeply fulfilling, fully embodied, and rich with meaning.”
